Are you looking for a role where you can gain on-the-job experience, an opportunity to earn while you learn, all while at school?

A School Based Traineeship provides you the opportunity to gain on-the-job experience, practical skills, confidence in the workplace, and a recognised qualification.

What are you waiting for? Kickstart your career in health now!

As part of the West Moreton Health School-based trainee program, you will be required to work 50 days (375 hours) over a 12-month traineeship (that's a minimum of one (1) day per week, even during school holidays). During the traineeship you will build workplace skills, confidence, and work towards gaining a nationally recognised qualification while still at school.

Are you the right person for the job?

To be successful in gaining a school-based traineeship your application needs to demonstrate these personal attributes:

  • Ability to commit to a 12-month school-based traineeship - this means you need to have the skills, ability, and self-motivation to work towards completing a Certificate III qualification prior to finishing your school education and regularly attend work.
  • Willingness to learn - if you are successful in applying for this position, you will be assigned an 'on the job supervisor'. Your supervisor will show you how to perform tasks, assign you tasks to complete and assess your workplace competency.
  • A genuine interest in Health - completing a school-based traineeship will allow you the opportunity to explore your pathway into a career in Health.
