Future You Program
The L'Oréal PPD Future You Program is a free, comprehensive 3-day immersive experience designed to inspire and guide motivated secondary school students (Years 10-12) towards a rewarding professional career in hairdressing. Our core objective is to bridge the gap between education and industry, providing an authentic "taste of the industry" in a professional, supportive environment.
This initiative is not-for-profit, with every resource dedicated to student development and the long-term sustainability of the hairdressing community. We aim to provide accessible opportunities, removing financial barriers for aspiring young talent.
Students participate in a structured, engaging program covering essential aspects of the hairdressing profession:
- Day 1: Industry Welcome & Career Paths: Introduction to diverse career opportunities (e.g., apprenticeships, salon ownership, session styling) and initial hands-on hair experience.
- Day 2: Skills & Personal Branding: Exploration of colour theory and practical application, alongside crucial training in personal branding and professional presentation for career success.
- Day 3: Real Stories & Well-being: A panel experience featuring industry leaders sharing their career journeys, providing realistic insights.. We also invite parents/caregivers to the morning session to hear how rewarding a career in hairdressing can be. Following on with a morning tea for salon owners looking for part time or apprentices to join us as well. A meet and greet if you like!
All participating students will require parental/caregiver consent to attend.
Qualified Trainers: All L'Oréal PPD trainers hold current Working With Children Checks, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
The program is strengthened by collaborations with key industry bodies (e.g., AHC, WorldSkills, SaCSA), educational institutions, and leading L'Oréal PPD salons. It is also fully supported by Hair Education By L’Oréal, leveraging our extensive learning resources.
