At Lowood State High School, we believe every student should leave school with a meaningful pathway towards further education, training or employment.
Vocational Education and Training (VET) gives students the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications, practical skills and valuable experience while completing their senior studies.
As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 30392), Lowood State High School delivers a range of nationally recognised qualifications onsite. Students can also access additional opportunities through TAFE Queensland and other external RTOs.

- credit towards the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE).
A completed Certificate III or higher qualification may also contribute to an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) when combined with four General subjects and the relevant QCAA and QTAC eligibility requirements.
VET at Lowood State High School
Qualifications delivered by Lowood State High School are listed in our Senior Subject Guide and must be included on our current National Training Register scope.
Students may also apply for programs delivered by external RTOs, including TAFE at School. These programs are delivered and assessed by the external provider, which is responsible for issuing any qualification or statement of attainment.
Before enrolling, students receive information about course requirements, duration, assessment, costs, required resources, work placement, available support and the RTO responsible for delivery and certification.
