Lowood State High School has 25 students who are participating in the Blue Edge Program which uses physical training as a tool to help young people develop discipline, learn goal setting skills and growth through the achievement of personal goals. Improved physical health promotes improved mental health. Participants are learning the importance of team work, and motivating one another as well as themselves to achieve their goals.
Guest speakers will be invited to talk to the students about simple life skills, such as hygiene and eating healthy so that students are school alert, fed, motivated and ready for learning.
The beginning weeks of the program have been full of some intense fitness sessions and of course opportunities for students to develop connections with new people. The students have been enjoying the early mornings and the positive atmosphere which is supporting their PERMAH Pillars.
